Episode 031 Karen Brody Daring us to REST
Episode 031 Karen Brody
Karen Brody is the author of the popular book, Daring to Rest. Karen wants to help others create a new, conscious container for life and work. She believes the best place to cultivate awareness is through conscious rest. She explains this kind of rest is one where you effortlessly check “in” rather than “out.”
In Karen’s book Daring to Rest, she begins with Yoga Nidra rest meditation—a sleep-based meditation technique that she describes as; “The best nap of your life and a really good therapy session rolled into one. Where your body relaxes into supreme peace.”
Karen says she is on a mission to help you lie down, get some deep transformational rest, and bring your well-rested woman forward – because well-rested women feel happier, healthier, and change the world from a more conscious, loving, and peaceful place.
Daring to Rest is an invitation to experience 40 days of soulful sleep. The Daring to Rest Yoga Nidra program unfolds in three phases—Rest, for physical exhaustion—Release, for mental and emotional exhaustion—and Rise, for tuning into the “life purpose exhaustion.” Karen provides a downloadable guided meditation and supportive practices, an essential resource for breaking the cycle of fatigue, rediscovering wholeness, and finding the courage to make a difference in the world.
In today’s episode Karen shares her personal experience of being an exhausted overwhelmed mom and how she first experienced the practice of Yoga Nidra “Yogic sleep” and how it changed her world forever. Karen explains the practice of Yoga Nidra, and all the benefits of getting deep rest or—the term she coined—a “Napquest.” In this divine conversation Karen shares why REST is the bravery we all need in our world today.
